Job Description
The Role
Our Corporate Planning Division is seeking a Social Contributions Coordinator to join our Melbourne or Sydney team to lead two of Mitsui & Co Australia’s annual scholarship programs and sustainability initiatives. This role will be responsible for arranging and managing the Mitsui Educational Foundation (MEF) – a scholarship program where several university students participate in a study tour of Japan, and the New Colombo Plan (NCP) – another scholarship initiative from the Australian Government aimed to lift Indo Pacific knowledge in Australia by supporting undergraduates to study and undertake internships in the region.
Their key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
• Collaborate with participating universities to interview and select students for participation in MEF and NCP.
• Book and schedule all travel arrangements such as flights, accommodation, and insurance etc.
• Coordinate, facilitate and chaperon all tour activities for students and guests whilst in Japan.
• Research, implement and drive various sustainability initiatives within MCA and in collaboration with Mitsui group companies in Oceania region such as volunteering events and promotional activities regarding Indigenous Reconciliation & Modern Slavery.
• Coordinate and monitor annual offset of carbon emissions.
• Drive all communications regarding MCA and Group Companies social contribution activities.

• Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
• Fluent English and Japanese language skills including reading, writing, speaking is required.
• An understanding of Japanese business culture and etiquette.
• Ability to navigate and guide others through Japan’s cities.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word etc.
• A tertiary level qualification is preferred but not essential.
