Mitsui Resources Pty Ltd (MRP) is the wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., one of the world's most diversified trading, investment and services enterprises. Mitsui Resources Pty Ltd (MRP), established in 1982, serves as the holding company for Mitsui's investments in Australian coal developments.
Headquartered in Brisbane, MRP is currently involved in 6 coal mines across Queensland. MRP also seeks to expand its business into other areas including critical minerals in order to align with the evolving energy landscape and sustainable resource development.
The Role
We are seeking an Assistant Manager who will play a key role in supporting the organisation’s Corporate Development Department. Working within a tight-knit team and closely with stakeholders in Tokyo, some key responsibilities will include:
- Support company secretarial and corporate governance activities to ensure compliance with Australian regulatory and group governance requirements.
- Coordinate Board and management meetings.
- Maintain statutory registers, governance records, policies, and document management systems.
- Manage compliance programs and internal controls, including audit coordination.
- Provide broader corporate affairs, administration, and ad hoc support to the Corporate Development Department.

They will be comfortable working within a close-knit team and a multinational environment, building strong relationships while supporting high-quality governance and corporate development outcomes.
Qualification and experience:
- Graduate in Commerce, Law, or relevant fields preferred.
- 4–5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within corporate governance or compliance functions, with strong exposure to company secretarial matters.
- Demonstrated experience supporting corporate governance and statutory compliance within an Australian regulatory environment, including the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare professional reports, correspondence, and governance materials.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience in the resources/mining sector, joint ventures, or working with Japanese or multinational organizations will be highly regarded.
